Baseline Study of Regenerative Production Landscape : People, Nature, Economy

Partner Organisation : Action for Social Advancement
Project Period : December 2022 – August 2023
Project Area : Madhya Pradesh and Odisha

The Regenerative Production Landscape Collaborative (RPLC) is a multi-stakeholder partnership model focused on fostering agricultural ecosystems that conserve natural resources, build community resilience, and enable responsible sourcing. The project was implemented across 8 districts in Western Madhya Pradesh and 4 districts in Western Odisha, applying a three-pronged approach of Production (economy), Protection (nature), and Inclusion (people) to promote sustainable landscape management.

Cognisphere Solutions Limited led the baseline study in partnership with IORA Ecological Solutions Limited. The study aimed to establish baseline figures on soil health, water management, small-holder income, biodiversity, greenhouse gas emissions, and gender equity. The methodology included surveys with 1,080 households, focused group discussions with women and farmer groups, and village-wise scoping studies to assess topography, land use, soil health, and other key factors. GIS and remote sensing were also utilized to analyze land use, water bodies, and forest cover trends.

The project was successfully closed in August 2023, and the final report has been submitted.
